Work by bashobits was shown across Shibuya’s public signage in SCREENS CONTEXTUALIZED, NEORT’s official programme for DIG SHIBUYA 2026. The project treats the digital signage scattered through the city not as advertising media but as a stage for cultural expression, taking over fifty-eight screens across ten locations.

Weather Writes

Aura Afterglow was shown at MIYASHITA PARK as part of Weather Writes, the themed open call within SCREENS CONTEXTUALIZED. The brief asked artists to treat meteorological phenomena as poetic ones — cloud formations, the trajectories of rain, the movement of wind, changes in light — and to set the rhythm of weather against the rhythm of commercial space.

Thirty-four works were selected from 324 submissions worldwide and shown from 9 to 22 February 2026 across MIYASHITA PARK VISION: three horizontal screens, six vertical, twenty-four L-shaped, and one on the elevator facade. Selected works continue at the park as public art beyond the festival.

Aura Afterglow is a custom combination of three pieces from Freedom of Mobility, part of the wider Mobility world that bashobits has built out from Seasons of Mobility.

Rush Hour All Day All Night on the street screens

A second Mobility work, Rush Hour All Day All Night, ran on street signage elsewhere in Tokyo. The screens carried bashobits’ name beside the work and cycled their crediting between NEORT, ARTCRUSH.COM and MEDIA DEPT., whose housing the panels sit in.
